Fast Food, W. Central Texas Style
While Dairy Queens everywhere are generally known for good food and good service, don't be surprised if it's all just a bit better in Cross Plains.

You're liable to see more smiles and be treated with unusual courtesy. Employees live in or near Cross Plains, and that's just the way people are, there.

DQ is at the corner of Main and State Hwy 36, the primary crossroads of the town. It's a popular place for locals to meet and discuss business, or simply take a break from what they're doing.

Because of the popularity with local folk, DQ in Cross Plains is a bit busier than some other establishments in the chain. Your order, depending on time of day and number of customers, could seem a little slow in arriving.

But it's good, and it arrives hot. If a mistake has been made, it's corrected without complaint. The establishment is clean, generally quiet, and a pleasant place to eat. Or take it on the road.    [16 Apr 2002 07:46:48]

No Meat On My Hungerbuster !
I recently got the $1 Hungerbuster on sale one night and there was no meat on it....I was already out of town before I realized they stuck me with a "Veggie Burger" instead.    [28 Aug 2003 22:34:09]

Too long wait and bugs!!
We stopped on our way through town to eat. We waited 30 minutes for 2 hamburgers and fries while others after us got their orders before us. The bathrooms were filthy and there were dead roaches laying on the floor. The employees seemed more interested in giving free drink cups to their friends than in seeing to gettting the orders filled in order or promptly. We will never stop here agiain and that is bad as it used to be a good place to stop and grab a bite in a timely frame while traveling.    [24 Jul 2007 11:27:00]
