Disappointed for the Last Time
Having lived in Denton for two years now, I have repeatedly hoped that my next visit to the Cupboard would be better than my last. But alas, I think I've finally given up. My last visit to the cafe, coupled once again with poor, apathetic service from folks that don't know what an iced-coffee is, ended in a 20 minute wait for one of the saddest sandwiches I've ever had served up. Brown lettuce, untoasted toast, thin, with the saddest of presentations (perhaps a chip or 2?), made me bring it back up to the counter to remedy the situation, only to be ignored (once again) by the multiple employees. After realizing that no one was particularly interested in remedying the situation, I left the sandwich and walked out. I assume now that Denton is experiencing some growth on the south side, bringing new businesses and groceries, that the Cupboard will feel some pressure that will hopefully result in some improvements. For me, I think I'll head over to Panera and have a sandwich.    [26 Aug 2004 22:56:15]

You've Gotta Try This Sandwich!
The jerk tempeh sandwich at The Cupboard is delicious! The sweet and spicy jerk seasoning is a pleasant addition to the substantial tempeh in this sandwich. The pita chips are awesome too.    [07 May 2006 01:12:12]

Wonderful Vegetarian Food! Great Sandwiches.
I really enjoy eating here for lunch after classes. The jerk tempeh was great. I had never eaten tempeh before, but it was delicious! The hot veggie sandwich is my favorie. Everything is fresh and tastes great. I do have to admit the wait time is too long. However, the store has a lot of great items to browse around and look at.    [10 Nov 2007 19:34:09]
