All my childhood life
I was born in Eagle Lake Tx. And raised in Garwood. As a little girl my Father Sammy Burris took us goils to get sausage on the weekend. I have to say it is the best I have ever Had... I only wish we could get it up here in Pa.

Great Barbeque & Sausage
My Husband's Mother was born and raised in Eagle Lake, TX. He spent several summers there with his Grandparents (The Truitts) while growing up. A few months ago, we had been to El Campo to visit his Aunt and came back through there to visit the Masonic Cemetery where his Grandparents and Great Grandparents are resting. We bought a sliced beef brisket sandwich from Austins for lunch. The beef was so tender you almost didn't have to chew. Then we bought a link of the smoked sausage to bring home. It was the best smoked sausage we had found in years! There is no space to eat inside, but they provide picknic tables outside under a covered area. Overall, it was a delightful experience. We are looking forward to going back soon for more barbeque and lots of sausage to bring home.    [02 Feb 2007 18:30:07]
