Nice setting, Good food
This restaurant has a great ambiance and good food that fits the setting well. The entrees I had were alright although I don't remember the exact names of them. The caesar salad is delicious. For dessert they have a great butter rum fried apple pie a la mode.    [08 Aug 2002 00:41:31]

Good food. Lots of fun.
We've tried just about everything on the menu and haven't found anything to complain about.

The chicken fried steak is delicious, and big enough to share. Sandwiches are really fresh and tasty.

Great Food, Great Atmosphere
Excellent food. Their steaks and baked potato with all the trimmings still make my mouth water when I think of them. Very friendly service and great atmosphere. The only flaw was the noise level. With a hearing impaired family member, it made conversation difficult.    [28 Oct 2002 11:27:40]

I live at this place
I must admit the food is fair. But what really gets me is the atmosphere. I have been going there everyday for the last 7 months and the crew there is like an extended family to me. If this place was to go away I'd cry. They have a way to make you feel at home on your first visit that does not stop after your 1000th. Careful of the Tip (double dipping)
Was in Brownwood Tx last night and was looking for a fun place to have dinner. We had a party of six. We had seperate checks and there was a 15% tip added to each check. No problem except the waiter didn't inform us that this was going to happen. He folded up the receipt with the tip on it and placed it with our credit card. He left the copy for us to sign. If I hadn't checked my detail copy I would have given the waiter a second tip.

Greatest Steaks in Central Texas
I just wanted to say that the food is exellent and the service is supreme. They have the best hospitality that i have ever witnessed in any restaurant that i have ever been to. Favorite place to dine but
When we have out of town company, we always take them to Humphrey Pete's for a nice dinner. The atmosphere is great and the waiter/waitress has always been superb. This evening, however, I was so disappointed when we were served our steaks, the baked potato's were cold as though they came out of the refrigerator. The waiter did bring us another, however, we either had to let our steak get cold or eat them separately.
