Very Good Food, Very Good Service, Good Price

I Sure Do Miss the Food
This is a wonderful restaurant that I surely miss a lot. All of the food is wonderful. Can't wait to go back. The owner is wonderful and his service is great. Very affordable, too, especially if you're a college student.    [17 Jan 2004 00:46:25]

Wow
Cappetto's has always been one of my favorite restaurants. In fact, it is one of the first places I go when I am in town. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. The wait staff is always attentive and friendly. You can never go wrong with anything on the menu; the kitchen really knows what they are doing. Totally Overrated
You have got to be kidding. This place does have friendly people. But, the food is average at best. For goodness sakes, the chicken parmesan is made with a pre-frozen patty - it's round!    [18 Nov 2005 11:47:00]

Poor Substitute for Italian
This reviewer had the (mis)fortune to live in southern Italy in the 1980s and was properly educated on the taste, texture and value of pasta in that (then) poverty-stricken part of the country.

Cappettos failed the pasta test on one visit.

It was dull, possibly dried and abused, or else fresh and terminated. The sauce was an attempt at imitating Mama Italiana's by way of a 30-quart cooker on the heat for a day and a half.

A large crowd I was with possibly interfered with the smooth running of the kitchen, but if a kitchen can't flow with 30 pre-arranged guests, then the kitchen fails.

The service was motivated, but overwhelmed by our large table. Dishes were delivered haphazardly.

The ambience was that of a VFW dance hall upscaled with plastic and stucco Roman kitsch. Fake plants. Home Depot paint job. Dark.    [23 Oct 2006 22:00:21]
