El Rancho Escondido- A Taste of the Old West
El Rancho Escondido, inside and out, is a monument to the way El Paso used to be. It is decorated with an eclectic collection of antiques, in an old adobe building surrounded with nopales.

They offer the type of Mexican/Tex-Mex cuisine typical of El Paso; enchilada, taco and burrito plates, fajitas, steak tampique, and, my favorite, chiles rellenos. The portions are generous.    [04 Dec 1999 10:38:40]

My Favorite Place
El Rancho Escondido is one of those places I still miss and go back to when I go home to El Paso. Everything is absolutely delicious and deep in flavors. The atmosphere is relaxing and warm. I used to just love driving out there on Fridays to relax and just be!    [07 Mar 2006 16:11:35]

West at it's Best!
It is worth the drive! You will find the best mexican food, great atmoshphere and awesome service! They are better that ever. This restaurant has been around for 30 years and still going strong. It is family oriented and has live music on the weekends. Great place to celebrate special occasions. Did I mention that they have the best margaritas in El Paso? Glad your Back!
I was glad to hear the El Rancho Escondido had reopened. I was eager to taste the food and see if it was as good as it used to be. To my surprise, it was better than I remembered it. The service was also great. You can tell that the new owners want to keep it a success. Thank you for reopening such a great place. I'm glad that El Rancho can be a choice for dinner again. This restaurant deserves more praise and attention--perhaps the best Mex. restaurant in El Paso. Relaxing old west atmosphere, excellent chips with two salsas (garlicky green one especially tasty), strong margaritas, robust red enchilada sauce,superb top sirloin. Fine getaway.
