Description
In addition to the regular beef sausage, you may special order, by calling ahead, some of the hot, sage or original sausage. If you can't make up your mind, order the "three-meat combo," which may include: two links of beef sausage, a couple slices of smoked turkey, two pork ribs, barbecue sauce, German-style potato salad, very spicy beans, a pickle slice, and a medium-sized drink... all for less than $8.00.

The food is great except that I personally did like the way two of your servers treated me. One ignored me when I ask for something, but other than that everything was great. Hopefully I will go back to Elgin next weekend to go it at the best restaurant there the Meyer's restaurant. [17 Oct 2002 14:55:41]

New sheriff in town For years I had been stopping at Southside mkt and bbq in Elgin. On a whim, I stopped at the other joint in town, and I was amazed. Not much to look at out front, but when I got inside, it felt very homey...huge fireplace, lots of wood and oversized brick and the food was to die for. The brisket was so tender, it almost fell apart before I cut it. The sausage was spicy, but not too hot, and not greasy, which I was used to getting at the other place. Beans, potato salad and sauce were top notch, and they had these little pie with the state of Texas made out of cuts on top. Outstanding! Now this is the only place i stop for bbq between Houston and Austin. [24 Nov 2002 16:48:09]

Best BBQ I've always heard Texas had the best BBQ. While visiting a friend in Texas we ate at Meyers. I absolutely loved the sausage. I'm looking forward to eating there again. [10 Jul 2004 13:08:55]

MEYER'S IS OUR FAMILY TRADITION For as long as I can remember, from my childhood up to now, my family has been eating the best BBQ in the state of Texas. Meyer's BBQ has been a staple in our family for more than 30 years, it all started when my grandmother use to take us on the weekends for BBQ in Elgin, we would load up the car and drive from Austin to Elgin and we would eat till our hearts were content. Now that I am grown and now live in Houston, Texas as I now have a grown daughter of my own, we always no matter how full we are, on our way to or from Austin still have to stop and eat, as well as bring some home with us to enjoy later. If anyone in my family is going to Austin or Houston, they have to make a Sausage and beef run to Meyer's. My husband who is from Tulsa Oklahoma is hooked on it too! Thank's for the MANY MANY years of GREAT Texas BBQ! P.S.Besses & family. [03 Mar 2006 14:14:07]
