AWSOME! This is more than a BBQ restaurant, it is an experience. Only open 3 days a week (Fri-Sun) the place is packed each day for lunch and dinner. The rest of the week they are either catering or competing in contests around the country. You may choose either the all-you-can-eat buffet for $10 or the blue plate with a sandwich and sides for less. Choose the buffet. All of the meat choices come directly from the smoke oven behind the counter, smokey, moist and cut right in front of you: St. Louis-cut (one bone between two bones worth of meat) pork ribs, pulled pork, bone-in chicken, sausage and brisket, all superb, all melt in your mouth and need no sauce at all. The sauce is thin and tangy, yet rich and deep in flavor and color (if you're into the sugary store varieties, this isn't it; it's a bit more vinagery.) You are given the option of adding your own sauce or not. Side dishes are rather a second thought here, although quite adequate: baked (pinto) beans, potato salad, cole slaw and a variety of garnishes including chiles, onions and pickled okra. Ice tea or water come with every meal, but if you prefer beer or soda, BYOB is allowed. The atmosphere is perfect, consisting of long red and white checker clothed tables where patrons can all sit together community-style with rolls of paper towels and caddies with tabasco, salt/pepper and tooth picks. The walls are adorned with many of their BBQ contest banners, beer posters and photos of the contests, employees, their families and famous visitors. If you are ever in the DFW area and are a fan of true smoked BBQ, do NOT pass this place up! [09 Jun 2002 00:55:09]

Great Bar-b-que I love this place! This is some of the best ribs and sausage in Texas and for the price you can't beat it! I found this place about 3 years ago and I would send anyone there to eat! When we have family in from out of state they all want to go eat at that rib place! [25 Jan 2003 18:46:53]

Used to be the Best I used to drive 20-30 minutes just to go, but they have gone down hill. They used to have a sweet sauce and were less expensive - but they demonstrated that their customers are not the #1 priority. They do what they like, they do that well but they have lost the respect of me and many of my friends. You can tell by all the business they have lost. Don't get me wrong, I'd still tell people to go there - but only if they were 10 minutes away and not 30. Hope their owners get their act back together , my money will happily return. Best BBQ in Metroplex This place is a secret gem! I can't add anything more than that it is definitely my favorite BBQ joint in the Metroplex. Great atmosphere, great food, friendly service. You can pick up beer at the convenience store around the corner and bring it in. [01 Dec 2004 23:08:52]

Past its prime This place used to be heaven for BBQ lovers. Now it's merely a cut above -- but definitely NOT what it once was. I'd go there if I was in the neighborhood, but I would no longer go out of my way or plan an evening there. The meat is often dried-out, like it was leftover from the previous night. They say it's all-you-can-eat, but sometimes you have to either pick through what's left of the ribs or prod the guy to cut more. This was WAS great; now it's just OK. Also overpriced. I first found N. Main in the 80's moved back to west TX, but never forgot their bbq. The ribs are awesome the new spicy sausage yum yum, the brisket comes out of the smoker just right. It's 1 of the things I had better bring to Mom in Odessa when I go home. [28 Apr 2006 16:10:20]
