Angies Great Chicken Fried Steak

If you are traveling the I-10 corridor from Los Angeles-Houston or points in between you just have to stop at Angies in Fort Hancock. For those who were wondering Fort Hancock is about 60 miles east of El Paso and about 60 miles West of Van Horn. We have all read about no decent food between El Paso and San Antonio...that just isn't true. Angies is at the I-10 Fort Hancock interchange and has parking for RV's and Tractor Trailers.

Angie's is a touch of Americana. The restaurant has been featured in the National Geographic Traveler and the El Paso Times. They have a variety of Mexican food plates and is know for the chicken fried steak

Favorite Dish: I had the "Angie Burger" which probably has a months worth of fat grams; but was in a word delicious. My wife had a brisket burrito which was great. They also have steaks and a great chili burger.

In addition to good; food the service was excellent. We've all dined along I-10 at restaurants in wwich the service was marginal to down right awful. That is not the case at Angies. We were waited on by Angie and the service was excellent

Ordered enchiladas and was served tacos! Then, hamburger no cheese served WITH cheese and trimmings I disdain without ANY follow up service to correct, Lousy wait service. Waited forever to get recognized to order. No greeting, no thanks, no tip! Canned vegies, salty food, only salsa was good.    [30 Dec 2008 16:47:46]
