Nothing Better I used to live in Stockton. I can honestly say that Bienvenidos was and still is my favorite place to eat. When I was there, I would go every other weekend. And when I go visit, I make it a point to stop in and eat. [11 Apr 2003 13:51:23]

Best Mex I've Ever Had Many years ago we stopped in Fort Stockton on a cross country trip and asked at a gas station where the best Mexican restaurant was located. A half hour later I ate the best Mexican food of my life. I remember a combo plate that I still daydream about. This place was soooo good I wanted to stay a few days and eat every meal here. Wife said noooooo. OK, this is still my dream restaurant. [22 Aug 2003 20:13:10]

Need to Clean Their Grill First: You've never even tasted Mexican food until you've had my tia's food in Presidio. Well, she's dead now, but my ma still makes the best enchiladas anywhere. (Well, OK. Other family members rate a close second and may even top her on some dishes). Anyway, the first ingredient for a good restaurant is to have a clean grill. The fajita tacos that my traveling companion had were obviously not done on a clean grill. I had the "Asada" dish, and got carne asada with both verde and colorado sauce, and whereas the sauce was good enough, the meat was a little too soupy for my taste. Anyway, still looking for a good restaurant in Ft. Stockton. Kind of necessary, since by the time I leave my family in El Paso for my home in Austin I'm ready to eat by the time I get to Stockton. Bien Venidos has potential, but they need to clean their grill. [27 Dec 2004 11:52:20]
