Since 1929, this is the best Mexican restaurant in Fort Stockton, bar none. The combination plate was most enjoyable as was Cleo Castelo's hospitality. [28 Feb 2004 01:29:06]

Worth a Stop Sarah's opened in 1929 and the same family still owns and operates it in the original location. All the buildings around it have long since dried up and blown away but Sarah's (which is as much of a time warp inside as outside) still sits there like a little monument. Good but not spectacular TexMex but spectacular warmth. [21 Aug 2004 20:29:18]

Sarah's Cafe Since 1929 Sarah's Cafe came highly recommended for the Capital of Texas. The Castelo family carries the tradition into the future. I have been planning my West coast trips around their siesta hours the past 10 years.
I ordered the Sarah's Plate which had a great presentation and a little bit of everything. The famous Hatch, New Mexico Chilies were evident in the enchilada sauce. The impeccable food, exceptional service, and atmosphere were a great combination to conclude the evening. [09 Dec 2004 12:57:07]

Omigod - it's wonderful This is listed as American but it is the BEST in original, fresh, Mexican food. It's like sitting down in your Grandma's kitchen and having dinner with the family. The main room is tiny and you will be drawn into conversation with the other diners. Cleo is proud of her entrees and will share stories with you all night. The food is all fresh and prepared to order. The ambiance is great if you're into hole-in-the-wall, eclectic restaurants with CHARACTER. [18 Jul 2005 19:56:27]

Sarah's World Class Service and Great Food A business associate and I dined at Sarahs January 5. It is located on Nelson Street perhaps two miles from the Interstate. The service is absolutely "world class". Cleo and her husband treat you as personal guests. Try to imagine that you have Hispanic Grandparents and you are going to their house for dinner. You are welcomed and they are genuinely "glad to see you" and treated almost like family. The Food by the way is great. The Taco plate which includes 3 Tacos, beans amd rice is only $4.95
A Fort Stockton resident advised that the Burritos are out of this world. If you are looking for a meal that you'll tell your friends about check out Sarah's.
They are open until 2:00 for lunch and reopen at 5:00 for dinner. [07 Jan 2006 11:17:02]
