Great food! This is a "little" cafe type bakery/restaurant. The bakery has fabulous sweets, breads, cakes and cookies. The lunch is limited to a few sandwiches, soups and salads - which is great. They've perfected what they serve and it's always a hit! The dinners on Friday and Saturday nights are a bit "heavy" - don't expect to stick to your diet. Noodles, potatoes, gravies, wonderfully cooked meats. Very filling, very nice. This is a very busy cafe - people in the DFW metroplex know about it. The wedding cakes are just dreamy to look at. Having grown up in Germany, this restaurant is about as authentic as it can get. The food is excellent and cooked just the way my Mom prepared meals (and she was a fantastic cook!). I especially love the salad made with the traditional German house dressing. The potato dumplings are outstanding, and the meat in the beef roulade is so tender it melts in your mouth. My absolute favorite restaurant in the DFW area! [19 Oct 2005 14:18:48]

Not impressed! Being a German citicen living in the area I went to this bakery to get some 'real' German food - I am cured for a while! The decoration is cheap (plastic), the food is 'ok', I didn't really have a chance to enjoy it though, as the background music was annoying (loud and plain bad), the (native German) owner doesn't even give frequent customers a smile, soft drink refills cost .75, the tables are sticky, etc. When the owners figure that you want to stay longer than it takes you to eat your pastry they tell you (or have their employees tell you) that they want to close early... "Give me your money and go" seems to be their way of doing business. I won't go back, if I feel a need for German food I know there are better places around! [11 Mar 2006 08:09:16]

This is a great place for Authentic German Food I can not believe the 2 negative reveiws posted -- they were both posted around the same time; makes me wonder if one person posted both of them because this is the best German food I have ever tasted, and I make it a point to visit German restaunt whenever I can! The pork cutlet is sublime, as are all of the schnitzels, as well as the side dishes. My mouth is watering, thinking about the red cabbage and the spaetzle! [14 Aug 2006 12:18:37]

Good place to get sandwich and pastry Impressive potato salad, I have never eaten German food before. Food is good; I had an Alpine beef sandwich, and before I left I had to grab me some pastry for my family to try too. Whoever has a negative thought about them that could be their competitor, I believe. The negative part I could find is the price of food a little little little pricy for the amount of the food. To run the small business like this I agree for the cost of refill, but .75 cents is kind a little expensive. I consider to go back more often !!!! to try a different kind of food. Well this is for the "anonymous" person that doesn't really know what he or she is talking about. The truth is that that person had must never been in there at all because the only thing in the place that I seen, and was told (by the very sweet female owner) was plastic, was the table cloths. I found that the place was as friendly as one could be. I went on a Tuesday and it was quit crowed but I took that the food was very good I had something called the German goulash(?) It was fantastic! I also had a slice of the strawberry short cake it was also very good. I took some cookies and some other pastries home as well to my job. I loved the atmosphere and the owner came out and explained to me the background of their huge cuckoo clock that is located in the front area. It is fabulous! I will go back as well as I have been back. I just love the cute quite cafe located in south east Fort Worth. [25 Sep 2007 08:35:24]
