Love this quaint place! This is a small and intimate wine bar with a great menu. My husband and I have been there three times in the past 6 months and were never disappointed. The breads and pate's are excellent. The menu changes with the availability of fresh fish and meats. We had Copper River salmon from Alaska that was fabulous. There is also a shop located behind the dining area which sells food products. [24 Nov 2003 18:35:06]

Don't waste your time! We recently visited the Cuvee in Fredericksburg after reading an article in the Dallas paper and it was the biggest dinning disappointment. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were taken to the bar where we had to wait 15 minutes to get a glass of wine. Once we were served, we were never check on to see if we needed anything else. We finally realized that the reason that we couldn’t get any service is because the Manager/Owner has taken it upon himself to do everything from hostess, bartender, wait and bus tables, and in between all of that running around, book phone reservations. I wish that I could tell you about the food but we never had a chance nor will we ever have a chance to comment. [29 Mar 2004 15:04:37]

Never Been Dissappointed. My husband and I have been here only 2 times - the last time was Oct. 2004. We are planning another trip this coming Sept. or Oct. '05. The food is fabulous... the service is a little slow (but worth the wait), the ambiance is cozy. One of the things we love about Cuvee is that on any given evening (both visits, we experienced having top class wines by the glass - the last time; a Silver Oak) they may have an incredible bottle of wine open that they are serving by the glass. A really nice treat for wine lovers who want to try several different top notch wines by the glass. No reservations were taken - but we show up early and have not had a problem getting a table. The place is always packed out by 7:30 or so. Don't go if you're in a hurry. Chances are good that it's not gonna happen. [03 Aug 2005 16:19:00]

Huge Disappointment. Wouldn't Go Back. We made reservations for 10 for New Year's Eve. The menu was a set menu and we were VERY dissatisfied!! The meals were so that most of the people within our party did not even eat their main entree. The desert was good, but other courses were average at best. We were served the wrong wine for one of the two bottles that they served us, and then the manager acted as though he was doing us a favor not to charge us for the more expensive bottle. Then he informs us that the original wine that we had ordered, he only had a half a bottle of and would let us have the one and half glasses left - why did the waitress, who service was slow and less that sincere all eveing - even allow us to order this bottle in the beginning?? I think that the worst part, is that although we made many comments throughout the eveing to the waitstaff - and hints like not eating our meals and saying that it "wasn't very good", we chose to call and lodge an official complaint the next day since we only had about 20 minutes to get back to our house for midnight. The manager was not at all understanding or caring on our negative experience, treating us like he new that we were not from the area and did not feel as if he needed to go out of his way to make us happy. He only said that I should have brought it all ot his attention that night - which with more than 20 minutes to midnight, of course we would have. Overall, bad food, poor service and assistance with wine selection and not a very customer centric attitude from management. I do understand that they have new management, which might explain why this place had come highly recommended and ended up being a big dissapointment. [06 Jan 2006 17:00:58]
