Pricey We were expecting more of a Native American decor from the name, but it had more of an artsy, minimalistic southwest feel...simple Texas elegance. We were amiss to make a reservation, but were made welcome, anyway, by the host who greeted us at the door. We would have liked a few more non-seafood entree selections to choose from. The grilled pork chop entree with greens and potatoes was cooked perfectly to my husband's specifications, including the peach chutney served to the side. Likewise, the broiled chicken with green beans and red potatoes were very savory and moist, and I was also glad to have the option of the mustard sauce served to the side. The sour-dough rolls were tender, but served cold. Stingy with the butter. The meal was so pricey, we chose to pass on dessert. Our waiter was personable, but a bit scarce when we needed him. The furnishings were very nice, however the noise level of the jolly patrons in an open, tile-floored room made ordering and soft conversation at our table very difficult. There was additional pergola-covered seating outdoors, but we deferred to the comfort of the AC. Parking was tricky..additional spaces are very much needed. At those prices, we were expecting perfection in atmosphere, service and food...we didn't get it. [06 Aug 2007 15:40:26]

Watch the bill carefully Navajo Grill has been around for years with the same tired menu, but recently they've taken to quietly slipping a 20% tip onto their bill with no notice of this on the menu. The only way you'll catch this is to examine your bill closely - the line where you normally would add a tip actually reads 'additional gratuity'. Glancing around we saw several nearby tables filling in this line, no doubt thinking they were leaving a tip, rather than an additional tip over and above the 20% that management adds. We have stopped going to Navajo because of this sneaky practice, and because the food is overpriced for what it is. [12 Jan 2008 12:04:06]
