The first solo effort of former Damian's chef Luigi Ferri. Expect very serious Island Italian with an emphasis on seafood. - CitySearch, staff; editorial review - suggest change

Great place to go. Went here for the first time recently, even though I am a frequent visitor of the island. Nice well lit bar - a great place to have a drink while you have a short wait for your table. The dining area's lighting is more sublte. The restaurant used to be a bank I think and they have done a nice job of leaving key parts of the vault and incorporating them into the scheme of the place. I had a great chicken dish - I know - hard to believe - at the beach and I didn't have seafood. The chicken was practically floating in a puddle of deliciouse wine/butter/creame sauce - just outstanding! Also came with a side of alfredo - quite good, but I don't think that it was the best I had ever had, although the main part of the dish was excellent!! Prices were moderate (entrees at dinner seemed to range from about $13 to $17 with speciality dishes - lobster, etc - higher). Would definately reccommend this place as a must try sometime when you visit "the old wall street of the southwest". [06 Jun 2002 10:10:18]

don't bother After calling ahead to make sure that they were open and serving we arrived (well-dressed party of four) and entered just as party ahead of us was being seated. 5-10 minutes elapsed without so much as a hello we'll be right with you. I asked bar tender if hostess was available to seat us and was met with a shrug. The restaurant was almost full but tables were available, and ambience looked good so we continued our wait. After another 5-10 minutes I approached a waitress and asked if we would be could be seated and was told don't know we are very busy. Good for them but we were done waiting after the rude treatment without even the courtesy of an acknowledgement. After 35 years of eating on the island and elsewhere around the world, we'll take a pass here. [16 May 2007 00:53:22]

Great food, smug service. My wife and I took our 8 year old daughter there over Spring Break 2008. We were seated immediately. When the first waiter took our order, he asked if we wanted wine as well. We didn't so he stopped writing the food order and said "I'll be back." Then 30 minutes elapsed and a waitress took our order and again stated "No wine?!" and laughed when we declined. Overall the wait staff was good. My wife and I weren't hungry for carbs and ordered the 17.50 Pollo Gratillo... 2 chicken breasts in a special sauce with broccoli, carrots, onions, etc in between. I have to when ordering chicken I expect to be underwhelmed. However, it was the best either of us have ever had. It was incredible... and made up for the poor service. [21 Mar 2008 00:17:16]
