Og my goodness This is without a doubt the best Southern style meal I have ever had in a restaurant...I can't stop thinking about how delicious the food was. The only place that I have had better cream corned than at Babe's was at my mom's...who also makes fried cream corn. [19 Apr 2005 22:20:33]

could put moms kitchen out of buisness Great food fun atmosphere. Locations do not all have the same menues. Garland location has a larger menu with catfish and ribs along with the great chicken dishes. Get there early remember everthing is made fresh and can run out, guess that is why they have short hours, I wish they were open 24 hours a day. Great food. [29 Sep 2004 09:13:54]

All I can talk about I went to the Babe's in Sanger this past weekend. All I was able to talk about for the next 12 hours was the creamed corn and buttermilk biscuits. Man were they good. [29 Mar 2004 14:16:01]

you haven't had better All the way from California to visit my brother in DFW and he takes me to a 'chicken dinner house'? Well, woohoo, Babes Chicken Dinner House is the best. We had maybe 20 people in our party, and the service was fast and friendly, just like family. As the saying goes, you can have anything you want as long as it's chicken or chicken fried steak (I had the latter). Busted a gut on fine homestyle cooking.
Bought a Babe's cap for each of us, too! [26 Mar 2004 13:05:51]

Mah faivrite! ;) It's my favourite restaurant in the Dallas/Fort Worth area so far (and no, I haven't been to every restaurant there is - that's impossible)
I've always had good (and quick) service - granted, the waiters don't "sir" and "ma'am" you every two seconds, but I find that sort of thing uncomfortable anyway, and they are usually good at judging when to approach the table to remove/add stuff. Do be advised that the Garland/Beltline location (I haven't been to their other location) is closed on Mondays and that it closes relatively early on Sundays. If you go to a restaurant half an hour before it's supposed to close, don't be surprised if they've run out of stuff...and don't be surprised if the waiters want you to eat and get the ^%(&*% out of there so they can go home, either :)
I'll miss Babe's so much when I move back to Europe that I might go on holiday to Dallas just to visit ! [03 Oct 2003 20:38:06]
Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Hickory smoked chicken - v. good! :) Fried Chicken is also good and the lemon meringue pie is a MUST afterwards :)

Salad Dressing I love Babe's salad and the dressing they use is great. Anyone know the recipe?

From a Former Employee - Dressing I used to work at Babe's and I think the best thing I can say about it is that at the end of the day most of the employees eat the food too...it's that good.
(The dressing is vinegar, oil, sugar, and pepper.) [13 Apr 2006 22:29:10]

As my 7 year old said "If this is what Texas tastes like then I'm glad we moved here!" It was the quietest meal I've had in a while because everyone was too busy eating. At the first mouthful, my 12 year old moaned and barely looked up the rest of the meal! The chicken was just like Grandma's and that cream gravy was a bowlful of heaven. My children even ate the butter beans! We topped the evening off with a shared slice of chocolate meringue and coconut cream pie. Even that was like Grandma's....and that's high praise indeed! It was a Mother's Day treat of the highest order. [13 May 2006 22:37:45]
