Best Chicken Fried Steak in town!
Sure the Rio Grande Cafe has some great Tex-Mex food, but if you want to experience the ultimate at Castillo's restaurant, order the chicken fried steak. The portion is large, the batter is crispy and flavorful, and the gravy is thick and creamy. It's easily the best chicken fried steak in Granbury, and close to the best I've ever had...

Walking into the restaurant, the hostess/cashier quickly seated us and provided us with menus. The waitresses were quite attentive, very nice and prompt. The food is prepared and served quickly, so don't plan on finishing all of the warm tortilla chips and fresh salsa that are served soon after you're seated.


The dining area is plain, but you didn't come here for the atmosphere, did you? The tables are covered with easy-wipe tablecloths, the dishes and flatware are the type that you would find in any "greasy spoon". Nothing special, but everything was neat and clean.

Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy good food at an extremely reasonable price. Nothing gourmet here, just good food. Portions are generous, the service is great and the food is excellent.    [17 Jun 2006 17:40:42]
