Wooooooooo Eeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! Great food, great music, great times. I used to live right around the corner, but now live in Florida. I've lost some weight, but I sure do miss the food. [21 Feb 2004 11:38:39]

Great Place This is the greatest restaurant. I am from Port Acres, now living in Burnet, Texas. Everytime my wife and I go home for a visit it is my job to talk everyone into going to Larry's. Love the food and music. It is the only restaurant where you get more fried shrimp than French fries. [26 May 2006 00:21:39]

Larry's French Market-- A place for family My family and friends have been loyal patrons of Larry's for years. It is so nice to have a place where we can gather with family and friends to celebrate our own heritage and expose our children to the music, food and fun with so many others that are proud of our cajun roots. Larry's has always been a family friendly place. Small children are welcome just as everyone else. I have seen some of the talent of the other patrons on the dance floor and it is very enjoyable to watch. My three year old and my friend's five year old were excited to get to dance at Larry's. I watched the boys dancing in a small corner of the floor as all four parents stood closely by to make sure they did not get out of hand. Now, of course, kids being kids, occassionally a reminder to stay in their area was necessary. So obviously, I found it disgraceful watching people intentionally dancing over into the corner, nearly stepping on our children and looking at them like they had no place on the dance floor. We would move our kids closer and closer to the edge with each dirty look of this one particular couple who seemed to remain in the same corner as the children. I was utterly disgusted when I heard a woman's voice scream-- "Get them off the floor." I do not know where the voice came from, but I immediately dragged my child from the floor and we left. The children waited so patiently for a chance to dance. We only allowed them to dance three songs total the whole night, and the treatment we received was disgraceful. If Larry's is going to continue to market itself as a family restaurant, then obviously patrons need to be reminded of such. If the older patrons require that children move out of their way for the dancing, then possibly there could be an 8:00 p.m. cut off for children on the dance floor. I cannot imagine any mature adult treating a child so horribly as we experienced. As older generations pass, the exposure to the music, food, and general culture of our cajun heritage becomes less and less available to our children. Larry's has provided an environment for this exposure to continue. I love that my three year old son has developed an affinity for the music and the food. I would hope that anyone that visits Larry's and enjoys the atmosphere could remember what it is like to be a child, what it is like to be the parent of a small child and treat them with the same respect they would have hoped for. Sometimes it is easy to forget the magic children can find in everything. Larry's is a magical place for my son and it would be unacceptable for anyone to take that away from him. Surely people realize that children on the dance floor for just a few songs is not going to disrupt their opportunity to show off their dancing skills for an entire evening. I certainly hope that Larry's would insist that all patrons-- young and old-- be treated with respect and allowed to enjoy all of what Larry's has to offer. [02 Dec 2006 22:02:36]

Best darn Gumbo I went to lunch while working in one of the near-by Refinery, OMG the Seafood Gumbo is the best I have ever had. I went home and told my Hubby about it and now he is hooked on the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo. So if you like Gumbo ... that is the place to go. [03 Jan 2007 18:37:59]

best crawfish I waited along year for Larrys to reopen after the hurricane and finally it did, then waited for crawfish season to get here. Finally. we got to have the best all around and the service was great also. Our waitress was awesome to match. Ask for Cheryl if you go there she will make sure you are served well. Everything was great as usual. Thanks Larry we enjoyed every minute of it. [14 May 2007 01:38:08]

lARRY'S LEFT BAD TASTE TO SIX PEOPLE Went to Larry's for the first time, with five others.,last night. It was very crowded,I supose that is why we didn't get good service. I had the fried shrimp, yes I did have alot on my plate but could'nt eat but a few. The batter tasted like it had cream of tarter in it..Left a very bad taste in my mouth that I still can taste this morning. Others had fried dishes also complained of the same kind of after taste. One had gumbo witch we all tasted. It was water and greese..I complained to the waitress who just walked away. It really bothers me that a 15% gratuity was added to my check. I will usually give a 20% tip If I have good service..No wonder they added it to the check because other wise I would of only given a 5% tip. I WAS VERY DISSATISFYED WILL NOT BE RETURNING.
