Finally, an Area Restaurant with Tasty Food
A big find in a town which currently has only a few real restaurants, all of which serve large portions of unexceptional or downright lousy food.
I've been eating lunch here for two weeks. The lunch special changes daily and it is always delicious and hot. Sometimes the dishes sound like something that I would not have ordered from a menu, but so far they have always been super and I definitely will eat them if they return to the menu.
Fresh made sandwiches and salads are offered. I haven't eaten any yet but they are popular fare, based on a casual observation of what is served to other folks.
Soups, especially tasty ones made from scratch, are a plus in my book and soups are done right here--just the perfect amount of spices and/or seasonings to make them taste great. The sausage bean soup is my favorite so far.
This is a cool place. It's small and very clean, only a handful of tables are inside and a couple outside on the sidewalk. A blackboard displays the handwritten menu.
The service staff is adequate, not quite as attentive to some of the extras that make some wait persons exceptional. Nevertheless, they are always courteous and helpful. Anything you ask for you get promptly.
The restaurant does a brisk take out business, too.
Going Gourmet is clean and features a unique and tasty menu. Service is quick and efficient. The restaurant has a pleasant look to it. I definitely recommend it to everyone in and around the Hamilton area. [28 Jul 2004 19:17:07]
