seafood easy
We really like this Blue Shell, of course it is only a couple of miles from the house.

The food is always good and not too expensive, the service is sometimes a little hit and miss, but we keep going back for the food.    [01 May 2005 11:45:29]

Low quality food/Bad service
My husband and I were in Harlingen last week and figured we could find a decent seafood restaurant. The locals recommended The Blue Shell.

After a short wait, we were seated under one of four televisions with screaming wrestlers. We moved to another table to get away from the racket.

Our waiter was worthless. He comes to our table and stands there with a pad and pencil - didn't even ask us what we wanted. We inquired about the specials, he said,"what specials?" We pointed to the white board near the hostess stand, to which he ran over. When he came back he said, "We've got specials." We ordered just to get rid of him.

The food came with individual pkgs. of salad dressing, sour cream and butter. It's pretty disappointing to get your food with all these little pkgs. on top of your food. I had the Shrimp Princess, it filling was indiscernible and my husband's fish was dry. Our bill came to $47.32, we gave the waiter $60, he asked if we had the .32 cents, we said no, he looked unhappy with us, he then gave us our change rounded down to the dollar and then proceeds to tell us, "you can make up the .32 cents when you come back."
