this is soooooo good
This is a real down-home little place. It must be a favorite with locals and travelers because there is usually a line. The bbq is great. They have ribs and brisket and a great sausage. I got the combo plate and everything was really good. The sauce I got was the spicy one and it said you are in Texas to me. I tried a side dish called cornbread salad and it had to be my favorite salad. The cobbler was yummy too.    [21 Jul 2004 18:57:04]

Great Authentic Texas Barbeque
I stop in here every time I drive through Hillsboro. Great barbeque.
The ambiance leaves a bit to be desired, but hey it's barbeque. Cafeteria style service. Well worth the stop if you like barbeque.    [08 Nov 2004 14:46:07]

Up In Smoke at Exit 364A of the I35 near Hillsboro has absolutely the best BBQ sandwiches and po-boys of anywhere in TX including Houston, Waco, Fort Worth.....we have tried them all and this place is the best. Thanks    [10 Nov 2006 21:01:22]

Found Up In Smoke by accident using Google and my cell phone as we were driving from Dallas to Waco. Best restaurant find we have had in years. Our car full got combo plates and each picked a little different mix of meat. It was all great, especially the brisket. Go with the spicy sauce, it is not too hot and has great flavor. Even your trash taste good!!
Anytime I go through Hillsboro, I know one stop I will be making. That is Up In Smoke. I love their Texas Trash as well as my whole family. I would have never thought a bbq frito pie could taste so good. I get it with the spicy beans and spicy sauce with cheese and sour cream on top. Delicious!! I want more!!    [20 Feb 2008 08:12:40]
