30% tip? Okay here is the deal. I was with a large church group. I was unaware that a 15% gratuity was being added whether the service was good or not (it wasn't). I left a tip at the table anyway. When checking out at the register I thought the amount was higher than I expected. I paid, then stood back while the rest of the group checked out. It was then I was able to see the sign at belly level warning me of the extra charges imposed on me. I tried to get the cashiers attention to ask if indeed a 15% over charge had been added to my bill without my knowledge. She ignored me and I was forced to get back into a long slow moving line to get my turn with the cashier again. I found out they had added 15% in over charges to my bill and would have been very happy indeed to collect another 15% tip at the table from me without saying a word! Also I was the only person at my table drinking coffee with my meal. Every one else was drinking tea. They had someone coming around with iced tea regularly but I had to ask for every refill even though the price for coffee was high enough to include free refills. I made them give me my table tip back, I won't be back and I wasn't the only one in the party that felt the same. [25 Mar 2004 08:36:06]

To Go Cups? I like the The Catfish Place, even though the help is not always so helpfuf. This evening, my mother and I dined for dinner. As we were leaving, I ask for a to go cup. Sounds innocent, right? Wrong- I was told that they could not give me one. One of the raesons was that, I might pour alcohol in my cup. I would like to know, how was I suppose to put alochol in my cup if I did not order any. I was told that was just one the many reasons. I have never in my eating out adventures been told, I could not have to go cup. I was and still am mystified and confused. Can someone give me a LEGITIMATE reason. Next, Time I will bring in my own to go cup and if any one says anything about it- I will just have to decide, if it is worth it to even eat there!! [18 Jun 2005 02:16:32]
