Rude, horrible service
The food is only moderately acceptable, but what really makes this a place to avoid is the terrible service. The people that run this joint are the rudest I've ever seen. I guess it's ok if you are a "regular" but they were almost hostile to me when I asked about something on the menu and were in a very big rush to get us out the door even though there was plenty of available seating.    [09 Jul 2005 19:41:44]

The best hole in the wall in Huntsville
China House is the best answer to Chinese in Huntsville. I've been to the two other Chinese places in Huntsville and they do not compare. China House is not a buffet but the food is great. Menu includes both Thai and Chinese items. Lunch can be a bit rushed (12-1:30) but most dinners preffer the quick service during their lunch. Service is great the owners are really nice truly caring people happy to accomodate any dish with any substitution or addition despite the desclaimer on the menu.

The food is great, the owner may seem rude at first, but she is just a little rushed, always in a hurry. If you are a regular, she will remember what you order, even if it's been six months since you've been in. The wait is almost non-existent, your food arrives in minutes. Pricing is low and food is great.
Ambience is small town, you are seated within reaching distance of other tables due to the limited room, (one room restaurant).
Bathrooms; are outdated, small and could use a good scrubbing and a fresh coat of paint.    [06 Feb 2008 13:06:55]

When you get that cravin...
Ok, if it's your first time to visit Cathy at China House - she may seem a little harsh. However I can promise you that is not the case. She is the most accommodating, caring, and thoughtful person to ever own a restaurant. As others have commented, she definitely remembers every person's order, and nine times out of ten has half of it on the table before you can sit down all the way. Drinks are always full, and there is an endless flow of the most incredible soup you can find in Huntsville. Once you receive your order you will be pleasantly surprised at the portions. Even at 6 months pregnant, an order of chicken fried rice is about 4 servings worth. All I have to say is yummy!    [02 Oct 2008 09:32:08]
