The best damn Katsudon in the U.S. This hole in the wall has the best katsudon. Why? B/c these guys make the pork per order and so you get a crispy pork under all that egg/onion mixture. And, the egg/onion sauce is right on the money. Good price, too. Don't forget to sing a line of karaoke b4 yu leave, and if you say the following after u eat, they'll be supremely impressed: goochi soo sama desu arigato goozaimashita [28 Jul 2003 13:03:33]

Definitely the best/most traditional Japnese restaurant in Dallas Mr. Max is definitely the best and most traditional Japanese restaurant in Dallas area. I lived in Plano, but I eat at Mr. Max about 2-3 times per week. Food here is just excellent. The udon, ramen, and the most famous tekka-don are all delicious. Sashimi is always very fresh, and the sabashio is the best I have had in America. However, one thing for American to watch out is, mr max isn't like other japanese restaurant, it does not have any roll. If you're looking for roll, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for very good-priced, and very delicious Japanese food, this is the place you can't miss. [04 Aug 2005 15:55:17]
