Green Frog Does IT Again!
Today, 5/30/02, I visited and dined at the timeless Green Frog Restaurant in Jacksboro, Texas. It was a pleasure, pure and simple.

It took me back to my childhood, as well as a simpler time in this world! The country music was playing softly in the background. I felt like I was in a bygone era of American culture. I listened and watched the locals there, and reaffirmed my faith in the basic goodness of smalltown America.

Well, lets talk about food! I had an excellent hamburger, that was obviously handmade! The beef was overflowing the bun. Very good food. Fries done just right. And my waitress was as pleasant as she could be.

Why do I give the Green Frog such a good review?

They deserve it. Great Food.

Now, I must admit, I've eaten at the Green Frog before. Oh, a couple of times, back in the . . . . . .


1960's!

Yes, my family lived in Jacksboro (pop. 4000) back in the mid 1960's. I revisited my childhood home today and was surprised to see things had not changed that much!

And you know what . . . that makes me very happy!

Try the Green Frog Restaurant sometime and you will be trying small town America.

We ordered four hamburgers last night. All were ordered with mustard. We placed our order at 6:25. When the burgers were brought out at 6:55, one was made with mayo. The burger went back to the kitchen. We then saw the waitress come out of the kitchen and get the towel she had used to clean the tables, then return with it to the kitchen. When the burger was brought back out, you could still see mayo on the lettuce and tomatos and a fresh coat of mustard. The other three burgers were ok.    [16 Dec 2002 16:06:08]
