On a recent trip up 96 as I passed though Jasper I noticed a sign for the Swann Hotel. Hungry and feeling adventurous I made a quick turn on Milam and started looking for the Swann.
It was a easy find - 3 blocks and it is a huge blue Victorian hotel on the corner.

I parked across the street and walked over and entered the main entrance. I was not prepared for the beautiful front parlour and dining room! The place is tastefully decorated with period antiques!
I ordered the "Eggsalad sandwich" because it reminded me of the ones my granny used to make for us when we spent summers with her.

This one was a little different -had a little kick to it! Wow it was delicious!Found out the chef learned her cooking secrets from her Louisiana native Creole grandmother!

I failed to mention the sandwich came with a honeyed fruit salad,chips, and a homemade tiny muffin all for less than you pay for a sandwich in Houston!    [06 Nov 2005 02:57:11]
