Pork Chops Only They have the best pork chops I've ever eaten. Very good chicken and ribs too. But their sides are really gross. [12 Mar 2004 19:15:59]

LADY WAITER BAD SERVICE The food was good, however, the service was bad from one particular old lady working the food line @5:00 pm on 17Jun06. She commented to my husband that the food was too fattening for him. What type of business would hire such rude and stupid people. We were passing by and will never stop to eat there again. Hopefully, not all people in Junction,TX are that rude. [17 Jun 2006 21:51:58]

Poor Service The food was okay. (not great) Porkchops were huge but very dry. Our hunting group recently ate lunch at Cooper's and I was appalled at how I was treated. I went to serve myself some ice cream from the dispensor and the manager, who was running the cash register, grabbed me and pushed away, saying that I was not allowed to serve myself and that the server is on the phone right now and would be with me shortly. I thought it was self-serve since no one was working at the machine. I was totally embarrassed in front of everyone and will never set foot in that place again. [16 Nov 2006 10:01:28]

Real taste of Texas I drive a truck all over the country and I've eaten at places from one end of this country to the other and I would rate these guys as one of my favorite places to stop. When I drive through this part of the country I always try to time my dinner or lunch to stop here.Ive always had a great meal and the meats are always delicious. I've never had a bad meal here. Ive been through early (5:30am) to stop at the truck stop next to the resturant and they were out side starting the grills/smokers for the day. They slow cook all day! no wonder its good! strike three -- they're out Could there be more than one Cooper's in Junction? I have eaten at the Cooper's BBQ near I-10 there several times in the past two years. I have given them several chances, but the BBQ there is just bad! Too salty, too dry, and the sauce is the worst. Service and management is surly and unfriendly. It's too bad, because Coopers in Llano and Mason are terrific! [21 Jun 2007 13:29:43]

The worst BBQ in texas Sadly, we had the misfortune of stopping there and sampling their fair. Cooper's had been hailed as the premier BBQ restaurant and any one interested in BBQ or 'knowing' what BBQ tasted like should go there.
First off, everyone on the service line had NO personality WHAT so ever. When greeted by the slicer/server ... we requested BBQ beef and the server gave us the worst cuts off of the bell end and proceded to cut wedges of fat OUT of our beef, leaving mostly unedible chewly, leathery and salty meat behind. It was the most saltiest meal of our lives, and the worst BBQ I have ever eaten.
The beans were no better than a can of Ranch beans from HEB. The BBQ sauce was horrid and the dipping sauce resembled watermelon water, both devoid of flavor and substance.
It is amazing that there was a line going out the door and the food is SO bad. They must be operating on reputation alone and perhaps most of the patrians where first hand buyers. (Because anyone who knows BBQ would never eat there.)
On a nice note, they did have the cleanest, clearest tastiest water I have had in a very long time. (It helped wash down the salt.) I would recommend them for the water, as for the BBQ, don't even mention them. [17 Nov 2007 01:23:25]

very, very sick I ate there on 11/8/07 at 5 pm and got very, very sick... I believe it was the potato salad. In retrospect, I should have known better than to eat it since it was warm when I ate it. For two days I could not get out of bed (other than to get sick). Good news is that I lost 5 lbs in two days. [02 Dec 2007 21:06:46]

I agree with three stikes Is the Coopers at Llano better than this one? With all the hype about this place, it was far from good BBQ. Fat, nasty brisket that was too salty and crappy sauce. What gives? The pork chop was the only good thing we ate and the potato salad was just gross. [05 Jan 2008 21:09:00]
