There's something unforgettable about eating mesquite smoked brisket from a paper plate, with a unique sauce never tasted anywhere else, a big pickle, and an ice-cold Dr. Pepper.
It's just as good now as it was when I was in high school 35 years ago.

Long way from the original
Last time I was there, the meats were dry and subpar and the sauce did not taste good at all. Big city prices as well. Not at all like it once was back when they wore the "Butter Krust" hats. Need to go back to basics to draw some of us who have since left K.C.    [02 Oct 2003 07:47:02]
