THE BEST My family and I have been eating at Victor's since the early 80's (at their old location). Our opinion is that it is easily the best Mexican food in the Houston area, which makes it one of the best anywhere (those who have tried Mexican food elsewhere understand). Victor and his wife and son are there a lot, always with a friendly greeting and warm smile. All I can say is "keep it up Victor ... you have the best". Incidently, I am on a job assignment in Aruba right now since (running mid-March to early June) and have been without my Victor's fix for a while. I would KILL for a plate of his enchalada's!!!) Great Family Dining My family and I have been going to Victors ever since we moved to Katy 7 years ago. The food is great and the kids can stay entertained on the playground while my husband and I visit.Victor knows us by name everytime we go in. He also does alot in the community. Thanks victor keep up the good work. The McDades [03 Jun 2003 17:31:43]

Great Mexican Food - Fun Atmosphere We have been eating at Victor's since the restaurant was in a little strip mall on Saum's & Fry (11 or so years). Victor always remembers our name - and says hello. The service is quick and friendly. Victor's is a family favorite! [11 Jul 2003 16:26:20]

Happy Hour Misleading My fiance and I ate at Victors on Sunday, at 4:00pm. On their menu it states Happy Hour is from 3-6pm, 7 days a week. We ordered Margaritas-4.50 and Pina Coladas-4.95, but when we got the check the amount for the margaritas was 2.95 and the Pina Colada was 4.95. They told us only margaritas and beer are discounted at Happy Hour, no other drinks, but their menu does not clarify this. It is very misleading and when I asked that at least the waiter should have said something, he acted like I was being petty. I was very disappointed by this and I will not be back. There are too many good Mexican resturants in Katy to be treated like this. [20 Jul 2003 09:56:55]

Dissapointing I have eaten at Victors several times and it has always been okay up until the last 2 years. Victor is always very friendly but when he is not there the staff is a lot different. The last trip we made there was horable. We went one day last week and I asked for ice water and my friend asked for ice tea. There was maybe 3 pieces of ice... not a big deal I asked for some ice.... after asking 3 different times and him forgetting 3 times I let it be. The chips were stale and it took over 25 minutes to get our food... only maybe 10 people in the place... when the food came my friends plate was the wrong one and my enchilada was cold and the cheese puff stale. No drink refills and had to find the waiter to get the check... I only left a dollar tip since the horrible service. We sat at the counter for about 5 minutes before finally getting someone to come ring us up. Horrible experience. Victor get a better staff! [21 Apr 2004 17:33:05]

Ees Goood I haven't been to Victor's Casa Garcia for a long time, and I miss it. In fact, since I moved from the Katy and Houston area, this is the only thing I do miss. Why? Ah, food's always good. Service, just fine. Nice margaritas. Fun atmosphere. All that's important, sure; but Victor himself is what makes the place. That old, grinning Mexican-Texian is adorable. The place runs smoothly because Victor Garcia makes sure everyone else does his/her job. That's the sign of good management. [15 Jun 2004 15:42:48]

Menu Changes. Beware of Price Increases. We have been going to Victors for food/drinks for a couple of years. They have changed the menu. We usually don't look at the menu because we have been going for so long, so we ordered tonight. 2 tacos a la carte, like we usually do. The tacos were brought dry with no lettuce and tomato. We were told a la carte items were discouraged. We were charged a full meal price $9.75 for 2 dry tacos and $5.95 for a margarita. The service has changed and the friendly atmosphere just isn't there anymore. What happened?? I am disappointed, but there are a lot of mexican restaurants out there. Keep trying. Bad Tortillas. Food is ok, but it is bad when they don't have home made tortillas. Even the little taco stands have home made tortillas. [17 Mar 2005 15:39:26]
