Excellent Food! The combo Hibachi is the way to go. I had steak and shrimp, cooked to perfection. The portions are generous and the service is great. [20 Feb 2002 00:33:24]

treat pick-up orders poorly and unimportant I ordered often no problem, usually sushi.this weekend I tried to order and was denied a small 4roll order by phone,by a rude waitress and even more rude manager.I will never spend another penny at the ....! They have lost a customer here, and customers that I usually bring in there.
They need to tend to needs of all customers, not just their eat-ins. [28 Jun 2002 21:05:19]

me like's it Personally, I like it a lot. I think they have great service and you get to watch them cook your food right in front of you, and 99% of the time you get a funny, nice cook. [06 Apr 2003 12:11:56]

Quite Good I am a Japanese food lover and have found this place to top off all other Houston area Japanese/Hibachi style restaurants. Their fried rice needs a little bit more flavor though. They should copy off their main competitor's fried rice and would be winners. [30 Dec 2003 11:09:11]

Don't ever go there I went on a Saturday night. The service was horrid. I think we saw our waitress more after she gave us the check then the time after placing our order and during the meal. At one point I was beginning to question if beverages were self-serve. The fish was not impressive nor was its presentation. I don’t' think I will ever visit Ichibon ever again. Don't be Bitter So that we wouldn't have to wait and hour and a half my party of 4 and a baby opted to sit in the table part of the restaurant and hold off on the Hibachi which is why we went there. I had been there before and loved it. On the dining room side we were served by a bitter and rude waitress who continued to roll her eyes at me when I made a request. Now, I don't notice these things, because I generally don't care (waitresses can roll their eyes all they want if the food is good) but my wife does. I never tip less than 18% but this time I tipped 10%. That was difficult for me, but you just got to know, you can't neglect those on the other side. I'll go back because I love the food, but it's probably not worth it with out the Hibachi [08 Feb 2004 03:09:10]

Excellent sushi and traditional dishes I found the restaurant to be of high quality when compared to other Houston/Galveston Japanese locations. The sushi is always fresh and the table cooking is quite a show. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous. I highly recommend this restaurant in the Kemah area. I eat there at least once at week. [21 Jun 2004 21:55:11]

Experience varies I've been so surprised by the wide swings in the behavior of both the cooks and wait staff, that I really don't know what to expect when I go in there. When it's good, it's the best... and when it's bad, you feel like giving them back what they dish out (and I'm not talking about the food). It's definitely a cultural difference "thing". When these folks are in a bad mood, they tend to let it leak out on you for various unknown reasons. So go for the food... and if they're rude, nicely tell the owner. That's the best way to fix that. I'm going there tomorrow for lunch, hoping for my A+ experience again. [03 Apr 2006 22:23:35]
