Poor Service I have been a regular for 5 yrs until Jan 11th 03'. We had a very bad experience with the MOD & Chef. Long story short, after several discussions with Waitress, MOD, Chef about the cut of meat served...the Chef sent back on the 3rd try a steak on someone elses plate that was already eaten off of. MOD could have salvaged the debacle but opted not to. Very disappointing due to our long patronage. We have permanently moved to the Jefferson Street Cafe. [02 Sep 2003 09:04:08]

If you like Wine and Great Food stop here This place has an outstanding wine list and it is very affordable overall. My steak was one of the best that I have had in a long time. This is a real jewel. [26 Sep 2003 12:33:57]

DELICIOUS!!!!!! Best steak i have ever had. Fliet Mignon (bacon wraped)YUM!!! I would come all the way from my home in Illinois just for the steak!
Waitress was wonderful. And management was delightful. They bent over backwards to make our dining experience great. [02 Jun 2004 17:53:20]

Mainly for the Old Folks This is an Old time steakhouse that probably hasn't changed in the past 30 years. The atmosphere includes lots of varnished wood, an open black iron grill, and a stone fireplace. There are no windows and has a dimmly lit atmoshere that doesn't hide the fact that most of the clientle are seniors who think this is a classy place. We should have been clued in when we asked our waitress "hows the prime rib" and said she didn't know because "I don't eat much meat". The salads are made ahead of time (you see them in the cooler when you walk in) and are stacked on top of each other and thus come pressed down on the plate. Mine had the added treat of a long blond hair mixed in. The menu is your paper place mat, there are baco-bits for your potato and, no rolls or bread but you do have crackers including melba toast if you need your bran. We both ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came almost raw (we arrived early at 6pm and maybe the meat hadn't had time to cook). There isn't anything "special" about this place but, if you need a dose of what an old steakhouse used to be, check it out! [04 Nov 2006 13:43:26]
