One Dang Fine Restaurant!!! This may not look like it from the outside, but you just can't beat the good food and service at this restaurant in La Grange, Texas. The fried catfish is out of this world delicious, the steaks are lean and just melt in your mouth and if all you are in the mood for is a burger and fries, well they just about make the best of those too. I'm not sure but I believe this is a family owned restaurant, because they do care about their customers. The place is neat and clean, which is always a must for me. I would give the Riverside Cafe a 5 star billing! Speaking of billing, the prices are very reasonable too. This Houston girl says "Check it out!" [11 Mar 2005 05:09:27]

A Must Stop and Eat Drive by the kolache place (Shell gas station/C-Store) and keep going towards town for about a mile and on the left before the bridge you'll discover small town cafe charm that is all but gone in most of Texas. This place should be enshrined for preserving the old "Cottonwood Inns) style of "sizzling steak". They come sizzling after a bath of butter and w'shire sauce. Buuuurgers are great!! Onion rings, thin and homemade are deliciuos (give me more on an order though, onions are cheap). Ice tea by the quart. Yea! Make your own salad bar. Lunch buffet. Get it early as it is the freshest then. Downside - Frozen fries and store bought pies. Still a jewel in the rough. [13 May 2006 11:50:13]
