Great BBQ One of the top three BBQ joints according to Texas Monthly, and they are so right. I believe it is number one. With the great atmosphere and friendly folk. You walk into a long hallway straight to the pit area to order the cuts of meat and sausage you want. You have a choice of Shoulder Clod, Brisket, Prime Rib, Pork Chops and Sausage. With you choice of breed or crackers. All served on butcher paper and a knife. (No plates and forks here, so don't ask.) You have either a nice screened area, or main and secondary dining rooms to eat in. In the main dining room you order your sides, no beans or slaw here not even sauce (You won't need it), just cheese, pickles, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, beer, soda, tea and hand-dipped Blue Bell Ice Cream. In the main dining room you sit at long group tables. In the middle of the tables are your napkins, salt and pepper mixture and hot sauce (for those who like a little spice). Overall a great place .Five Stars out of five. You need to try it out. [06 Feb 2003 09:30:01]

OK but not the best in Lockhart Guess it's a matter of opinion, but I was disappointed with Kreuz. Seem more like it's a snob appeal - you only get meat, you only get your choce of cracker or bread, and you eat with your fingers because they decided you should. They don't take credit cards either.
The meat was ok - but I prefer another place. [17 Dec 2003 18:27:07]

Outstanding Pork Loin In spite of the family problems, they seem to have worked out a reasonable relationship. I've been going to Lockhart for this since 1980- and I'm a rookie. [11 Feb 2004 18:29:34]
