Description
A cozy restaurant with stylish decor. The portions are large and the menu changes. It is mostly Italian inspired cuisine, using fresh, local ingredients. It has a full bar and an inexpensive wine list. Reservations are accepted, but during the week, not always necessary. It is within walking distance from some of the hotels. There is also dining outside.

Sophistication in West Texas This is a very stylish, elegant restaurant with high quality and interesting food. In line with its small town location, the staff is very down-to-earth and friendly. The desserts are especially outstanding and the wine selection is good yet quite reasonably priced. [10 Jan 2003 20:28:15]

High Cuisine in the High Desert Maiya's was a real treat ... a beautiful, sophisticated little spot with a very friendly and accommodating staff. The food was fantastic . . . great beet and feta salad, chicken and steak dishes, and best of all, fantastic desserts. This amazing angel food with warm chocolate and a hot apple tart with vanilla ice cream. What a great spot . . . I'm sure to be back! [19 Jan 2003 01:18:11]

High Prices and Poor Quality We ate at this restaurant a few weeks ago. The food was very overpriced and poor quality. I ordered a chicken dish that was "dry" and lacking taste....it came on a bed of tastless lettuce, and the chicken had very littlr meat. My wife could not eat her meal and it had to be sent back. One bright spot...the service was good. My suggestion is to drive to Alpine for a good meal. [27 Mar 2005 22:22:29]

Best food in the area by far Maiya's consistently delivers fresh, delicious dishes, good service and an overall pleasant dining experience. It's the only place in the Marfa-Alpine-Fort Davis area one can find a good meal. [25 Aug 2005 21:39:50]

A Delight in West Texas As we pulled into Marfa, to stop at the El Paisano Hotel, we noticed this retaurant just a block down from the hotel. We ventured in for dinner, and were thoroughly overwhelmed with the food, decor, ambience, and service. Three cheers for the Maiya...a gourmet delight in West Texas, comparable to any large city gourmet restaurant. [30 Jul 2007 14:17:32]
