Santos Taqueria in Mason Santos is a gem (other than topaz) found only here in Mason county. Although it appears to be Tex-Mex at first sight; after ordering you soon discover that the food/dishes are decidedly of the "interior" Mexico variety. That is rather pleasant.
The owners of Santos also own and operate the Sandstone Cellars winery next door. Being on the same parcel of property this allows them to sell their wine in the restaurant.
The food is excellent, but I have to say... They have the best sauces in the entire state! And I'm not exaggerating. Anyone who has eaten here and enjoyed these can back me up on this.
Although my personal favorite is the crispy beef taco plate (yum) I highly recommend you try the gorditas. They are not corn as you might expect from the average Tex-Mex establishment, but rather white flour. Hand made when you order them! All in all, this place is definitely worth a visit.
