The food is amazing and the service exceptional. I've dined at Goodhues at least a dozen times and have never been less than awed at the food. However, I found the owner to be rude, snobby, and she didn't seem to care whether or not we were enjoying ourselves or if we cared to return. I've dined here four or five times and I have found it to be the best restaurant that I've found in McKinney. The Prison, which is just across the historic downtown McKinney Square, has a better atmosphere, but the quality of Goodhue's food is far and away more scrumptious. I've personally had the same thing every time I've gone (roasted garlic with goat cheese for an appetizer and roasted duckling for my main course - it's so good I can't bear to order anything else), but my wife and all my friends swear that everything on the menu is fantastic. Unlike the previous reviewer, I've never had any problems with the service. I'm not sure that I've ever met the owner, but everyone who I have met has been great.    [12 Sep 2002 12:19:30]

My sister went there. She is the pickiest eater we know and the meal she had at Goodhue's was the first one I have EVER known her to finish in a restaurant (she had the ribs!). Anyway - I will make it a point to visit Goodhue's myself on future trips! Thanks Goodhue's!

Super Restaurant
We have been to Goodhue's several times and feel that one could bring any guest to the restaurant and feel secure about the service food quality and atmosphere. The bar area is pleasant. Always ask for the front of the restaurant, the back room lacks the cafe feel.    [27 Feb 2003 13:34:33]

Food excellent, service needs improvement.
My husband and I have visited this restaurant several times and find that the food is always excellent but that the service is getting worse. Totally awesome
The duck is rollin (incredible). When they have scallops, they are fantastic. My wife always get the filet - outstanding. The salads are great, the soups are great and the lava cake is to die for. All-time favorite in McKinney
This is my favorite restaraunt, so much so, that we no longer bother driving to Dallas for special dinners. The food is always fantastic, amazingly so! Awful Experience
Our recent visit to Goodhues was a nightmare from the service down to the food. We waited over 1 hour for our food to arrive after a 1/2 hour of waiting to order. It arrived cold and sent it back for warming. Returned still cold. Our waitress who looked like she just ate lemons never apologized. I did not eat my meal and when I asked for a box to feed it to my dog, which I did, still no response. We should have walked out when we said we were going to 1 1/2 hours into our torture. 1st Time Visit
Decor is nice; waitperson was friendly w/o hovering. menu choices were a nice surprise...found serveral items to choose from. Was disappointed at no selection on salad dressings; only house dressing available. I wanted a salad but not their dressing.    [27 Aug 2005 21:53:57]
