FANTASTIC
I tell you what for homemade cooking this is the place to be. The atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The owner Mr. Duran is always around to make sure all his customers are satisfied and if you want something that's NOT on the menue all you have to do is ask him and he will prepare it for you. Like my Carrots and Peas........ oh oh and NACHO's.

One great place to dine at. Highly recommend it. The Meat Loaf awww is just to die for also and the... well you just have to make several trips to sample everything that's on the menue. Did mention fresh brew TEA!

Calico at the Spot is located in the Midland Tower building. They are open for breakfast and lunch only and feature an old-fashioned counter with stools you can eat at. Prices are reasonable and the chicken and dumplings and patty melt sandwiches are good. You can get salad bar at no extra charge with your sandwich but sometimes the salad greens have not been as fresh as they should be.
They do accept credit cards but not checks.
One warning is that SMOKING is allowed so this can be unpleasant if you are a non-smoker and a lot of people happen to light up.    [11 Aug 2006 16:47:36]
