Get there early-or don't bother! I had the pleasure of eating at Kloesel's Steak House recently on Sunday. We were told we needed to get there early (after church, of course) or there wouldn't be anything left! I couldn't imagine, but our host, Frank Drumgoole-from Yoakum, was right! We enjoyed a delicious meal of grilled steak and onions, green bean casserole, Texas toast, tossed green salad, and Key Lime Pie for dessert! The service was exceptional, the food was terrific, and the atmosphere was like coming home. Thanks to Mr. Drumgoole, we found that Texas hospitality still exists! [21 Jul 2007 22:19:24]

Below the Tracks We drove over from our B&B in Gonzales to this bright yellow house "below the track's"...We were a little surprised that we managed to spend over $70 on dinner in Moulton..but it was pretty good. We had the sirloin steak for two (28 oz-- is way too much steak for FOUR people but it was delicious). The sides are good, they make their own salad dressings and steak sauce...the actual salads aren't that good but the dressing is excellent; and my husband had a Rob Roy cocktail that was delicious. They have a pretty good wine list (medium level wines) but they were out of a lot of them and I finally gave up and ate dinner without my glass of wine.
It was a Saturday night and very busy...evidently there is karoke later in the night....we headed back to Gonzales before that got cranked up. I'm not sure if we'll ever go back-- but it was worth the trip this time. [06 Aug 2007 16:03:22]
