Good Old Fashioned Links....at good old fashoned prices The Pittsburgh Hot Link Palace harkens back to the old days of good food for a reasonable price. The restaurant serves the traditional hamburger and it is very tasty, but this establishment's claim to fame is hot links. Much of America's only exposure to hot links are the neon red abominations populating the grocery meat case at the local supermarket. That is like claiming to have eaten Mexican food because you have dined at Taco Bell.
The hot links served at The Palace are served in strings of at least four up to as many as you can devour. If you can get away with eating less than it would take you to push away from the table groaning, you are a better man than this reviewer. The hot links are offered with garnishments including chili, jalapenos and crackers. In an age that values a health concious diet, The Palace offers old-fashioned rib-sticking fare garuanteed to satisfy the stomach as well as the wallet. The only complaint this reviewer has about the place is that The Palace is unable to supply hot links in the quantity necessary to place them on supermarket shelves. Then perhaps America could learn the true nature of the hot link and the old-fashioned East Texas love that goes into every bite. [22 Dec 2003 23:49:24]
