Old Orange Cafe - really unique setting with outstanding food and presentation We stopped at the Orange Chamber of Commerce for lunch ideas and were directed just three blocks away to the most delightful and unique cafe - The Old Orange Cafe. The cafe is located in an old 1940's dairy with original tile walls and flooring. The hostess gave us a tour of the building and told us the story about the dairy that was most interesting. The menu is just as unique and deligtful as the setting and atmosphere. I had the grilled tuna salad and my husband had a huge, hand battered chicken fried steak that was topped with grilled tomatoes, green chilies and queso. They called it the Double Barrel Chicken Fried Steak. Really a neat twist to a standared Southern dish! When we return to Orange on our way back home, I'll have the Alpine chicken plate, but I'm sure my husband will dive into the Double Barrel again. Thanks to the girls at the Old Orange Cafe and our compliments to the chef! [14 Nov 2003 11:11:25]
