Total lack of courtesy/service On 9/16 at approx. 8:00 P.M., my husband and I stopped decided to stop in for a meal. As the hostess was leading us to a table, my husband went to wash up and the hostess took me to a booth. I asked to be seated at a table as that is my husband's preference. The hostess looked across at another aisle and asked the young, black waitress if she wanted another table. She replied "Not right now." and we proceeded to the tables in the front of the restaurant. As we passed another waitress at the computer, the hostess said something to her and she reacted in a less than pleased manner. I was seated at the table just inside the door past the second waitress. In approx. 1.5 minutes, my husband came to the table and asked if I had placed our drink orders. I told him no one had come by to take them. We waited and waited while yet another 3rd and 4th waitress came into that section without even acknowledging we were present. We continued to wait, still unacknowledged. My husband looked at his watch and said give them another 2.5 minutes. We stayed the 2.5 minutes and I said we needed to leave. On the way out, my husband told one of the waitresses we were leaving and that no one had ever come to our table. He also told that to two employees standing at the entrance. One of them - a young man - looked as if he were a manager. Not one employee spoke to us other than the hostess. I am not a complainer nor is my husband. I have never been treated so rudely at a restaurant before. We've had bad service and only twice in our lives have we ever not left a tip. We are in our early 50s and have traveled quite a bit. I will never step into this restaurant again and will be sure to tell anyone I come in contact with how rudely we were treated. We are fortunately financially able to eat out as often as we wish. The Cotton Patch Cafe in Palestine TX will never receive a cent of our money. If I could come up with a blistering review of this establishment I would. We have NEVER had such lack of or bad service either in the US or abroad. [17 Sep 2006 22:43:32]
