Best Pizza in Town

Fun For Kids, Friendly, Unique
We went last Saturday at Noon. The place is named after a famous pro wrestler in 1940's and 1950's "Big Humphrey" and is owned by his son who mans the cash register. There are lots of wrestling memorabilia on the walls. The place was very homey and waitresses were very nice. The owner greeted most customers (including two cops and the mayor of Pearland) and everybody seemed to know each other. This place was the anti-McDonald's, genuine, unique and not-formulaic.

My 6 and 8 year old loved the make-you-own pizza for $5 which had the kids rolling there own dough on a wodden platter and picking out their toppings and placing them on the pizza. The kids also loved the wooden clubhouse which they could go into and find books and old fashioned Etch-a-Sketch's. they had good burgers, pizza and itlaian specialties.

My wife who is of Italian heritage was impreesse with their mozzarella cheese.

It's inexpensive, friendly and lots of local color.

The only downside is time. The food took quite a while to be prepared. It took us about 1hour 5 minutes and it wasn't busy(because we arrived before noon). Place got busy at about 12:15 on Saturday so go early and allow some time.    [20 Feb 2007 23:34:53]

Best Burgers in town
I won't eat at fast food places for fear of contaminated meat. At Big Humphrey's I know that the owner gets the meat himself, it takes time for them to make the meal that you order, but I know it's safe and the burgers, pizza and steak sandwich are really out of this world!
