Nice atmosphere, excellent service. Appetizers are usual Italian fare, good calamari and antipasto. All entrees are great, some nights better than others. Mostly pasta dishes and veal parmigani. Eat at Joes! You'll love it
In this age of corporate chain eating establishments it's refreshing to find a Mom & Pop corner restaurant where the owner is on-site. An intimate (13 tables) family friendly restaurant that serves traditional Italian fare in large portions, with great quality and at a very fair price. Try the Chicken Parmigana, Tortellini, or Sausage, Peppers & Onions. All meals served with salad and fresh bread at no extra charge.

The pizza is awesome and will make you wonder why you ever order that cardboard delivery pizza from the huge chains.

Desserts are tasty. Cheesecake is the best in the world. If you don't believe me, try it.

Big Joe's
Covino's has the most amazing pizza and salad dressing. Both are very different from other restaurants which makes them even better. The chicken stuffed ravioli is absolutely amazing. Great, friendly service and comfortable atmosphere, which is relaxing.    [23 Oct 2003 21:23:01]

Joe's the man!
I have been going to Covino's now for about 2 years. Me and my family try and go at least every couple of week. It's a great "cozy" atmosphere and the service is impeccable. Everything on the menu is great, but ask for non-menu items like the Joe's famous Aristocrat. Eat at joes, you will be hooked. One of my top 5 restraunts in Dallas. Don't forget to bring your own wine, everybody else does. Half the experience is drinking your wine out on the balcony while waiting for your table. Great Food--HORRIBLE STAFF
We have been longtime Covino fans in Plano and were so excited that they were opening a 2nd Covino's closer to our home. Unfortunately, we have tried several times to go in and DID NOT experience the friendliness and atmosphere that we had so anticipated. The staff was rude, the piano bar was extremely loud and the guys running it were playing music that wasn't appealing. We thought that, perhaps, they were having a bad night and tried it again and it was worse the 2nd time. We'll skip it the next time even thought he food is yummy.    [28 Mar 2006 08:09:18]

Covinos is fantastic
Covinos is definitely a gem. The food is fantastic - some of the best Italian food I have ever tasted. They do not compromise on the quality of the ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy but beware - there are no reservations so you must wait outside to get seated due to its popularity. However, since they serve no liqour, you can bring your own and have a private cocktail party while you are waiting to be seated. And, don't skip dessert - their homemade cheesecakes are fantastic.
