ok Service was great but side dishes suck. Gumbo good, but food outpriced for the taste. [10 Mar 2004 01:58:18]

Awesome Seafood!!! This is the best seafood restaurant that I have been to in a long while. I will for sure become a regular. It is the best kept secret in Southeast Texas. The service and management is great. Didn't find a dish I didn't absolutely love. Try the Shrimp Crab Gumbo! Located right by the Rainbow Bridge. This is a place you have got to go. From the food and ambiance it is a total package. A++++ eatery [04 Mar 2007 11:26:34]

Not the same place ! Esters'for years was the ONLY seafood resturant to eat at. Last Friday evening a friend and myself went to esters expecting more wonderful food. were we totally wrong...gumbo is Kitchen Bouquite, oysters were cooked so hard, they we tough and NO Taste. fish was fried so long it was tough to eat, the coating was course corn meal which when fried that long will take the enamel off your teeth. Portions had fallen off to nothing...the stuffed crab and shrimp was not bad, and the Fosters was execellent. Cajan potatoes were ok. My friends "soft shelled craps" were cooked so long she just left them on the plate. As we both consider the owners "friends" we could very little at the resturant. will for sure drive to lake charles to eat seafood in the future...last to times as RED LOBSTER were horrible. fish was so old it smelled and had a gray color. Al T's is Winnie is a lot worse than the Schnoor in mid-county.
can't believe, AFTER so many years of wonderful food, Esthers in a short time has degraded so much. Breaks our hearts. [11 Sep 2007 12:16:39]
