The Windjammer has been a multi-generational family operation at the Port for years. It boasts the only full-service bar in town. Menu items are available until 2:00 a.m. The large dining room is separated nicely from the bar area, where the locals tend to congregate, making for an acceptable family-type atmosphere. A full salad bar, homemade soups daily specials, & special orders including "Cook Your Catch" make this a popular spot. The friendly staff can fill you in on all the local news & fishing/hunting reports. Their Fried Shrimp & Surf & Turf plates are very nice, though a little pricey. Call ahead for large groups during peak dining hours. Service is often slow, but always congenial.    [12 Nov 2002 16:00:53]

FULL BAR, no wild life
SANDY Owns and Runs the WINDJAMMER RESTAURANT and LOUNGE. The deer come right up to feed. monster bucks. Inside there is soup and salad bar. FULL BAR, MARGARITAS A SPECIALTY. Great Steaks and Outstanding Seafood. Port Mansfield is a short ride up from South Padre Island or down the Rio Grand Valley. IDEAL MOTORCYCLE RIDE. No traffic roads thru the Big Ranches.
