Mecca Beckons
We very much enjoyed the Cheese Enchilada plate and the Chicken Fried Steak. Servings are generous, the food is well seasoned, well prepared (especially the long-simmered beans) and service is great. We asked how this Mom & Pop Mexican restaurant got its exotic name but the waitress only knew that it had inherited the name from its previous owners. We almost felt like enlightened, satisfied Hajjis when we left.

You can even buy "art" here: mounted magazine pictures and posters are interesting to look at and available for purchase. It is low-key dining at its best, especially for hungry people who appreciate a fair price. I only wish we lived closer so we could eat there more often.    [09 Sep 2005 17:08:51]
