What kind of service??? We had one of the worst dining experience about their strange seating rule. Even though 1/3 of the restaurant was empty but the owner's wife made us share the table with others and could not seat together with the rest of the party who arrived early and seated at the counter (only seats available that time). When asked why, she frantically told us once you seated, you can never move to the different seat even though that was their first preference. Not to mention the nonsense rule, her arrogant attitude was not someone who is in a service industry. Very unprofessional and very unpleasant. [23 Jul 2003 17:23:02]

The real mccoy Having lived in Japan and eaten at many "Japanese" establishments in the Dallas metro area, I was overjoyed to discover this restaurant. The food is authentic and the ambiance is truly Japanese. Because the owner, and several staff members are Japanese, the culture is represented honestly. Since the cultures are different so perhaps may be the restaurant "rules". Bending to American norms would only encroach on the realism of this restaurant. Eating ethnic may cause you to experience things in a new way and this is good. [19 Jan 2004 23:14:51]

Ridiculous Seating! We had one of the worst experience ever! After being there several times,we became kind of regulars during my whole pregnancy. After our son was born we went back, and the woman in charge of seating (maybe owner, maybe Manager) was rude an insisted on us climbing over people (there you have to step up to seat on the inside of the wooden bench)with the baby carrier, we debated with her saying that it was a little to much to ask from us. She reluctantly agreed, but was rude, and arrogant. We have not gone since and will never go back again!!! [11 Mar 2004 21:24:19]

Just like other reviewers on this site have stated, the manager is rude and arrogant. Yes, she has rules for seating and she speaks very badly to customers most of the time.
I noticed that one reviewer said the rules are to keep this restaurant "authentic Japanese." I am Japanese, and all of my Japanese acquaintances who have eaten here will not go back because of the service. To say that this woman (the manager) is representing Japanese culture, is an insult!!! Please, if you want to experience authentic Japanese, go somewhere else! [28 Jun 2005 01:09:41]

Great Sushi I guess I know the rule. If your party isn't ready, you sit and wait. There are so many people trying to get in, I appreciate this rule.
Sometimes I will share a booth for 6 but you never have to crawl over a stranger. The sushi bar is a lot of fun.
I love this place. Great atmosphere, great food, friendly staff. [11 Dec 2006 10:28:34]
