Good but Expensive
I've heard for years how good the Swingin' Door is. When we finally went to eat there, it just didn't live up to the hype. The ambiance is very rustic. (just what you'd expect from a Southeast Texas barbecue place.) The waitresses are nice, and the food is good(especially the smoked turkey). The down side is that the food is very expensive for what you get. A one meat plate is over eleven dollars!

It is good food in a fun atmosphere, but It's just too expensive for smoked meat, beans and potato salad.

I suggest buying uncut meat and taking it home. You get the same great taste for less than half the cost.    [31 Jan 2004 20:41:07]
