Cottens is the best in the USA Cecil Cotten and the staff at Joe Cotten's Barbeque are outstanding. Joe's legend continues. The Cotten family have done an outstanding job for decades. [18 Oct 2003 11:56:47]

Best Cotten-Picker BBQ around Joe Cotten's is the place to eat in Robstown. Since I was young I have loved every entree they have to offer. Everything from their pinto beans to their butcher paper plates give Joe Cotten's BBQ it own personality. It's one of my favorite residents. [16 Apr 2005 12:41:56]

Best Bar B Que place in Texas I grew up in the same county with Joe Cotten, knew him personally until he died, taught his kids in public school, and ate bar-b-que at his place since it was in a little hole-in-the-wall on Ave. A in downtown Robstown. I have tried many bar-b-que places all over Texas, and Joe Cotten's is without peer. The atmosphere (nicest bar-b-que restaurant facilities I have found), the service (professional, courteous, punctual), and the food (tender, juicy, and tasty) are always excellent. His family has carried on the tradition in great style. You never go away hungry or disatisfied. Other bar-b-que restauranteurs should take lesson's from Cotten's. [17 Oct 2006 14:22:40]

My favorite restaurant in the world . . . I've had pasta Bolonese in Rome, pizza diavola in Venice, bouillabaisse in Cannes, shabu-shabu in Tokyo, but without a doubt the most memorable meal I've ever eaten is every time I fly back to Texas and and visit Joe Cotten's.
Let's say your're from New York or L.A. and you're driving between Houston and San Antonio on I-10 and you're debating whether it's worth the 2 hour (one way) detour. The answer is absolutely yes! Just bring cash (that's all they take) and remember they're closed Sunday and Monday (but open to 10pm the rest of the week). [23 Dec 2006 19:25:38]
