Worth the Trouble!
This restaurant is off the beaten path, but worth getting there! The food is downhome gourmet and is a treat for your tastebuds. There is limited seating, so I recommend making reservations, even though this is a very casual atmosphere. Each person at the table should order something different and share! Everything is good! My son in law must have written that! And I quite agree. It is absolutely THE best steak I have ever eaten in my life. Pricy, though. But for special occasions, we drive hours for it.

However, the cafe is for sale. The Royers have taken this to a new level. The old man is crusty and thinks he's cute, but he means well. Anyway, I hate to see them give it up. It's legendary.    [01 Jun 2004 04:10:39]

Just Try To Beat This Place!!!!
This is one restaurant that is well worth the trip! It is more than just a dining establishment, it is an EXPERIENCE! Everything on the menu is a taste sensation. Emphasis Added: Ruth Chris Steakhouse and Taste of Texas are great but they can't hold a candle to Royer's Cafe in the filet department. It is a small establishment, true - but what it lacks in physical size it more than makes up for in charm. Judge this book by its contents!!! Oh, and the fish is a sensory delight for the palate! The only cautionary note: Cash and checks only, no credit cards accepted. Also, if you smoke, go outside!!! They don't mind, its just a small cafe and like they say in their spanky clean bathrooms, this ain't high school so if you must light up go outside! Overall, I give this one two thumbs up!
